PineWood Derby

1ST PLACE WINNER
Pinewood Derby
DYLAN C. STOUT
Dylan turned 8 this year which means pinewood derby race. He has been waiting for this day since last July 9th when he turned 8. Christmas came around and he got this cute little gift from his scout leader. He opened it and the smile that was on his face was priceless. So since Christmas he has asked Corry time and time and time again when he would be able to make it. Finally the time came and Corry took him up to the school to cut out his car. Dylan first designed his car on paper, then he decided the color and then it was finished. The day finally came and time did not go fast enought for Dylan, he was so excited. He asked 100 times what time it was and how long he had to wait tell the weigh in. Well the first race he won... the second race he won....Dylan's smile was getting bigger and bigger. Then the third and fourth. Then the final race came he stood by the track anticipating. HE WON.. HE WON.. It was a proud moment. I love you Dylan, good job on that derby. Now off to regional's sometime next month.

Coupons coupons Coupons

Oh my goodness my dear friend Holly has spent many hours cutting out coupons this week trying to teach me about the tricks of getting a good deal. She shopped and shopped and shopped and told me she would be at my house Saturday morning to bring me all the stuff. She first called me and told me it wouldn't all fit in her car, so her mom had to make a trip during the week. I could hardly wait to see what she would bring me. Then she came oh my goodness the picture does not do it justice. She said it was about $600.00 and she got it for $65.00. Ok she had me at hello. I still can't believe all the food she brought me. I'm a believer and I am so thankful for her, her time, her patience, but most of all her love. Love ya Holly thanks so much for teaching me to feed my kids for less. My kids were to excited I've never bought Kicks or Fruit roll ups or name brand food. My kids were so excited. But the best was when Corry got home from his campout and he walked in. His face was priceless. He was proud....very very proud. Coupons, cut out those coupons. Shop those sales. See you at the store!!! This is my cute friend Holly with all her fruits of her labor.

Cutest!

Ok...this is my 2nd day home with a sick child. Dylan has a high fever and horrible cough and cold. I get to stay home and clean, and of course work on my blog. Yesterday I cleaned my laundry room/pantry. It took me 5 hours then after that was done I decided that after 4 years I needed to clean the JUNK DRAWER. Yes my junk drawer is done. It's sad that it took me my son being sick to finding time, but it is done.

It's also my baby's sister's birthday Emily. She is the favorite in the family and is amazing. She does everything right, first of all she is the best mom, Gus is so dang cute and will be the best kid, she is a cook, she is a Martha Stewart, her house is always super clean, she is organized, she can sew, everywhere I go everyone raves about her. My sister has the best qualities and I'm so glad that she is my sister so I can learn from her and of course get good ideas from her. This last Saturday I took an idea from her and made cute little heart shapes sewed them and hung them in the house. They are so cute....Sydney came home and said, mom did you copy Emily. I told her yes....I've got to copy someone. :) :) Emily is 10 years younger than I and I spoiled her rotten when she was young. I took her everywhere with me. I dressed her up and did her hair. We had so much fun. Emily was the favorite then and she still is now. Happy Birthday Emily, I love ya.

Monday was a great day. For Family Home Evening we did a service project. We filled up 24 hugs bags of leaves and a HUGE trailer full of limbs and trash from one of our friends house. We had lots of fun (after a little coaxing). When that was done we invited the Barney's over for some roasting of some hot dogs and marshmallows. After Marshmallows, we played a fun game for the Wii called Dance Party II, we all got to shake what our mothers have given us. Some of us had a little more to shake then others. :)

Young Women Recognition Award

Today was a great day. Sydney our only daughter received her Young Women Recognition Award. What a wonderful moment. She has worked so hard passing off all her values and experiences. She finished the Book of Mormon last week to complete it. The hours and hours she has put into this wonderful award. She really wanted to finish it before her 14th Birthday and she did with 4 months to spare. Love you tons Sydney, were so proud of you.

We had the best day. Holly (Stratton) Zitting and kids came to spend the day with us. I hadn't seen her in 5 years and had time to talk and enjoy each other since college. I'm so mad at myself that I didn't get a picture of all of us, (10 kids, 3 adults). We had so much fun making scones and enjoying each others company. I'll have to get a picture next visit.

Here are the boys with Grandpa. A little bit happier.

I think the girls seem happier than the boys about taking pictues. WHY of WHY is this the case?

Ok I received the best compliment today after church, Nicholas came up to be and said, mom you sounded so good singing today I only could here you and you were singing the best. OK #1 I need to sing a little bit softer or #2 need to blend in more. I'm new at this Choir stuff, I'm a beginner.... I have to smile and enjoy the compliment. Never thought anyone would ever say that to me.

New Year

Well it's a new year and time to reflect. Corry and I have been married 5 years and 3 months. I can't believe it. I love him more and more each day. I'm so blessed to have him and 5 wonderful and crazy kids in my life. I'm not a perfect mom, but I do try to be a better mom each day.

New Years Resolutions

Never say a negative thing about someone.
Say one positive thing about my kids to each of my kids each day.
Smile more at home.
Cook more.
Try to make Christmas Candies and goodies. In other words...try to be like my mom.
